How to format MariaDB online (free)

1. Paste your query into the left box.

Beautify vs. minify

Beautify reflows your query with consistent line breaks and indentation — the readable form you want in a migration file, a code review or documentation. Minify strips the extra whitespace and collapses the query to a single line, which is convenient for pasting into a string literal, a shell command or a log line. String literals, quoted identifiers and (optionally) comments are preserved exactly.

Tuned for MariaDB

MariaDB is a MySQL-compatible fork with a few of its own additions. This formatter uses MariaDB rules — backtick identifiers, RETURNING, and MariaDB functions — so your queries pretty-print accurately.

Other dialects

SQL engines differ in quoting, functions and keywords. Formatting with the matching dialect gives the cleanest result — for example backticks in MySQL, :: casts in PostgreSQL, or QUALIFY in BigQuery and Snowflake. Jump straight to a dialect-specific page:

Private by design

Many "format SQL online" sites send your query to their server. This one formats entirely inside your browser tab — your queries, schema names and any embedded values never leave your device. It also works offline once the page has loaded.

Does it change my query?

Beautify and minify only change whitespace, line breaks and keyword casing — never the meaning of your SQL. If a query can't be fully parsed, it's left exactly as you pasted it and a small notice appears, so nothing is silently rewritten or lost.
