How to sign a PDF

1. Drop a .pdf onto the box above.
2. Click New signature and draw it with your mouse, finger or stylus — or type your name in a handwriting font, or upload a photo of your signature (the white background is removed automatically).
3. Click the signature to stamp it on the page, drag it into position, resize with the corner handle. Add a date or text stamp the same way.
4. Click Download signed PDF. Nothing is uploaded at any point.

Your signature stays on your device

Signatures you create are kept in your browser's local storage so they're ready the next time you need them — they are never transmitted anywhere. Hover a saved signature and click ✕ to delete it.

Is this legally binding?

This tool places an image of your signature into the PDF — the same "simple electronic signature" most everyday e-sign flows use, and widely accepted for routine documents. It is not a certificate-based cryptographic digital signature; for documents that legally require a qualified digital signature, use a certificate-based signing service.

Are password-protected PDFs supported?

Encrypted PDFs can't be opened directly — remove the password in your PDF reader first, then sign here.

Does the signed PDF keep selectable text?

Yes. The original pages are untouched — the signature image is layered on top, so all the document's text stays selectable and searchable.
