2FA · Authenticator Toolkit

Read a Google Authenticator export QR code or any otpauth:// link, see the live 2FA codes, and move your accounts to another app: as single QR codes, a list of links or new Google Authenticator transfer codes. Everything stays offline in this tab.

Your 2FA secrets never leave this tab and are not saved anywhere. Close the tab when you are done.

How to read a Google Authenticator export

  1. In Google Authenticator, open the menu and choose Transfer accounts › Export accounts, select the accounts and take a screenshot of each QR code it shows. (Android may block screenshots of this screen; photograph it with another device instead.)
  2. Drop the screenshots here. All accounts are read and their current codes appear, so you can check they match the app.
  3. Move them: scan each account's QR code into the new app, save the list of links, or create new transfer QR codes.

Frequently asked questions

Are my 2FA secrets uploaded?

No. QR codes are read in your browser with a WebAssembly QR decoder, and codes are calculated with your browser's built-in cryptography. Nothing is sent anywhere and nothing is stored, so the accounts are gone when you close or reload the tab.

Why do my codes not match the app?

Time-based codes depend on the clock. If your computer's clock is off by more than a few seconds, codes can differ; turn on automatic time in your system settings.

Which apps can import these?

Single-account QR codes and otpauth links work with practically every authenticator app, including Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, Bitwarden, Aegis, 2FAS and Ente Auth. The Google Authenticator transfer codes work in Google Authenticator and in apps that import its exports.

Can I create 2FA codes for my own app?

Yes. Open Add an account by hand, press generate for a new random secret, and use the account's QR code or link in your own setup. The live code is the reference value to test your implementation against.
